How PR Increases Your Credibility

As stated in INC., "Credibility is, in a way, a higher bar than success. It means others look at you as a reliable resource and decision maker. It allows those who rely on you to know they can count on you, trust you, do business with you, and align with you.". So, credibility is pretty important for your brand, it can either make or break your success. You can read more about credibility here, a blogpost from Wildfire.

👀 Let's take a little look at how you can gain credibility by using the wonderful tool of PR. 👀

First things first, PR professionals are trained highly and know just how important the pursuit of credibility is for a new business and will always integrate this into the ways in which they help market and strategise your brand. How can they do this you may ask? 💭

Well, there are a variety of ways which PR professionals will guide you through to keep your credibility going. Let's get into those!

Social media 📲

Social media is at the forefront of society nowadays, and this is no different within the world of business. PR pros know this, and will offer you techniques so showcase your credibility though your social media platforms. You can read our previous blog posts, Benefits Of Social Media In Public Relations, here to gain more insight into how powerful social media is within your marking strategy. Social media builds credibility as it is a place to openly share your successes, testimonials, and your features.

Features 📰

A big part of our job is to get you featured in publications. When you have a good relationship with your PR pro, they have the details of the ins and outs of both you and your business. With this information, they will pitch you or your business to the best fitting publications to boost your credibility. Getting these public features will show your audience that you are a credible source being endorsed by industry professionals and thus, they will feel a great sense of trust.

Professional Bio ✏️

Here at GuidedPR, we will guide you on creating the best professional bio possible. This can then be used on social media (especially great for LinkedIn) and websites, as well as being sent off in pitches for features. The more professional and credible this is, the more your cliental will gain that instant trust just from reading a short 60 word bio about you and your experience. We use the BANEC® system to do this, which was by the GuidedPR CEO, and you can read all about this here.

These are known as earned media, you can read more about that on Ripley PR's blog post, Can PR Increase Your Credibility?. This is the idea that third party marketing gains you more credibility as a brand as you are not directly promoting yourself. When you have these articles and media outlets, you have other sources reinforcing your claims and thus, you are a credible source!

PR pros really do understand the importance of business credibility. Glean.info has some interesting statistics to show the increase of businesses investing in PR within their marketing strategies. Let's have a look at some of these:

🔶 61% of marketers said they have expanded their use of earned media.

🔶 90% rank their earned media programs as somewhat or very effective.

🔶 32% plan to continue expanding their use of earned media tactics.

🔶 62% said they plan to increase internal staffing to support PR over the next five years, and 75 percent said they plan to increase overall spending on PR.

If you haven't invested in PR yet, what are you waiting for?!
