4 Ways To Reach Your Target Audience

If there's one thing to always bear in mind when marketing your businesses, it's that your target audience is everything.

Walker Sands did a great post on this, you can read it here.

Forbes discussed the importance of knowing your target audience in an article which you can read here to get even more clued up on why it's so essential. But, let's get into 4 tips on how to reach your target audience.

1. Create content that appeals to your target audience

First things first, you need to ensure that the content you are producing for advertising/marketing is going to appeal to your target market. If you miss the mark on this, then your key audience will not be engaged by your content, and will simply ignore it. For example, if your target audience is businesses owners, you are going to want your content to be more professional than a business who's target audience is 21 year old social media influencers. It is an important thing to pin down when considering marketing, you want to make sure it's right to make sure you're getting the reach you need.

2. Know where your audience spends their time ⏱

This is just as important as knowing what appeals to your target audience. By knowing where they spend their time, you can use this to your advantage by creating content on those platforms. There's no point marketing on Facebook if your target audience isn't there. Also, this works well because instead of trying to get people to come to you (which might not always be successful), you can go straight to them and then you are more likely to gain views of your content. 3. Stay consistent

Consistency is key 🔑. Staying consistent means you need to keep on top of producing relevant content on the platforms where your audience spends their time. This is by far the easiest way to grow your online marketing presence. The more you post, the more you grow. This isn't necessarily just about staying frequent with content, but also the type of content. If you want to grow, keeping you content in a continual theme, for example, by running with the same/similar designs, you are keeping your feeds clean and consistent. By doing this, you are presenting your business as strong and reliable, as you're presenting yourself as an expert with your marketing tactics.

4. Hashtags #

Using hashtags on platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter will draw in an audience from people using/looking at the same hashtag. So, this really does work wonders for reaching your target audience. Running a health business? #health. Starting up a tech company? #techstartup. The success of hashtags may often be overlooked, but it's another way to get your audience to find you, rather than you finding them.
