Louise Mary Minchin

Louise Minchin is a British journalist. She was born in Hong Kong on September 8th, 1968, and has worked for the BBC since 1998. Minchin studied at St Mary's School, Ascot, and also achieved a degree in Spanish at the University of St Andrews.

She then went on to study at St Mary's School, Ascot, where she achieved a Spanish degree at the University of St Andrews. After that, she went to the London College of Communication, where she studied Journalism. In March 2014, she was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Letters by the University of Chester.


Minchin’s career began at Radio 5 Live in 1998. She has presented at many stations and has achieved notable credits on some programmes like BBC Breakfast.


Later on, in 2006, she worked as a relief presenter on BBC News Channel, The One Show, BBC One and BBC News at One until 2012. During this time, along with some other co-workers, she presented the documentary series ‘Crime and Punishment’. Now she is a regular presenter on BBC Breakfast.


In 2016, she competed in cooking show Celebrity MasterChef where she finished in second place. The journalist has also appeared in three BBC TV series: Spooks, Silent Witness and Children of Earth.


Louise has been married since 1998 and has two daughters. They all live near Chester, Cheshire, England. She has regularly participated in sporting competitions, achieving several accomplishments and awards as an amateur triathlete in 2015.


Minchin supports SOS Children’s Villages, a charity that provides homes and mothers to orphaned and abandoned children. She also is a supporter of Missing People, a charity that provides support for missing people, vulnerable adults and families.


She has a unique personal brand; a great reputation that differentiates her from the rest; and has numerous links with other business professionals for being a triathlete, BBC presenter, charity donor and even a chef.
